Guidelines for a positive sailing community

Hoofers strives to create a safe, welcoming environment for all and expects youth participants to help us maintain the following guidelines:

  1. Demonstrate safe sailing practices, which include wearing a lifejacket and appropriate footwear when on or near the water.
  2. Stick with your fellow sailors - this includes staying near an instructor while on the water or anywhere at the Union.
  3. Treat everyone as though they are your friend. (If this is difficult, we can offer acting lessons.)

Drop Off and Pick Up

Students can be dropped off at the Park Street circle located between the Memorial Union and Helen C. White College Library (north Park St. before you drive into the lake).

Drop offs are not allowed earlier than 10 minutes before class time and pickups are not to be after 10 minutes of class completion. If you are interested in car-pooling, please note this on the registration form.

Parking

Public parking is available within two blocks of Memorial Union (800 Langdon St.). The Lake Street and Frances Street Ramps are between State St. and University Ave.

Metered parking is also available in University Lot 1 (between the Memorial Union and Red Gym), Lot 6 (H. C. White), Lot 83 (600 University), Lot 46 (600 W Johnson), and Lot 47 (700 W Johnson).
